Description
This kit represents the ‘standard’ BR ‘Coal 16’ built in tens of thousands and introduced from 1950. Unlike the LMS-built wagons, they had no bottom discharge doors and so were fitted with two shoe Morton brake gear as standard. No BR steam, transistion-era or diesel layout up the 1980s can be complete without at least one or two of these.
This kit has all the detail of our LMS Steel Mineral wagon kits – full underframe detail with individual leaf springs, couplings and prototypically sprung buffers and these kits also feature opening side and end doors. Finely etched builders plates are included with numbers for thirteen alternate wagons.
