Description
This kit represents the BR ‘Coal 16’ built in smaller numbers than the Diag. 1/108 version [though still numerous!] and introduced from 1950. These wagons were characterised by rivetted body-work & side doors and were fitted with pressed end doors. Like the 1/108 vehicles they had no bottom discharge doors and were almost all fitted with two shoe Morton brake gear as standard.
This kit has all the detail of the Diag. 1/108 kit – full underframe detail with individual leaf springs, couplings and prototypically sprung buffers and again, feature opening side and end doors. Finely etched builders plates are included with numbers for seven alternate wagons.
